Make Your Own Favicon

I have a few sites I use to make my favicons for all my various sites and online publishing projects. If you are new to favicons, look at the address display for this site in your browser. See the little picture? That's a favicon. Check out the one for my blog: http://www. mspmedia.net/blog.html. That's a tiny pic of me. How did I make a favicon? The one for this site is from a scan of a drawing one of my sons did. The one for my personal blog I made from the photo of me used in the banner for MSPmedia.net. I cropped it and re-sized it to 32px, then uploaded it to a favicon generator site. This one is my favorite:
http://www.favicon.co.uk/

This saves the image file as .ico as opposed to .jpg or .gif. Your favicon has to be in .ico form or it will not work. Then upload it to the root directory of your domain or subdomain. For more information on how to link it, go here. More interesting information can be found about favicons on Wikipedia.
