Writing Can Be Physically Draining

Writing is not a hard job physically like construction work or factory work, but it can be physically draining. I love being a writer but I am often surprised at the physical aspect of it. Sometimes after a productive morning of writing my shoulders will hurt, my hands are cramped up, and my legs are stiff and sore. I'm going to put a sticky on my computer to remind myself to get up every 2 hours and stretch to keep my circulation up. Currently I'm working on editing Futuristic Motherhood, writing Musing Monogamy, and finishing up the first issue of Ultra Magazine, so I am busy and on the computer all day, every day. I'll remember to stretch and take breaks from now on.

Another thing that I find interesting about writing is how subjective the time feels; how fast it can go sometimes, and how slow and tedious other times. I can spend a whole morning on just one page! but it feels like a few minutes. Other times I can spend a whole morning on over 100 pages, and it feels like an entire day.
