The Substance of Style

I saw this post Is D.I.Y. Bad for Design? on the Design Life Now blog. I couldn't find the rest of the essay on Virgina Postrel's site (and on second reading realize it's not posted there but published in Print magazine) but I did read a little on her book The Substance of Style. Looks very interesting, I'm going to the library today so will check it out.
