My outfit for today!

This is a skirt I recently made out of other clothes. The black drawstring waistband is from a pair of shorts I could no longer fit, the blue/teal bottom is from a house dress that also became to loose for me on the top due to weight loss, and the yellow middle is from a shirt. It's very soft and comfortable and flexible, I can bend and run in this!

Top is a shirt of my husband's, white tee underneath. The head wrap is from the old house dress like the skirt. I am wearing my black flats for shoes. No jewelry except for wedding ring. and red lip gloss and black eyebrow pencil for makeup.

Inspired by my fashionista daughter and the many creative fashion folks on flickr! I am trying to become more creative in my personal style but I am also realizing I already have a unique sense of style and fashion. I have an etsy store to sell some of my creations, and New! a fashion blog.

An explanation of things you may notice about my fashion:

- I like long skirts because I get too much attention and harassment when I wear short skirts or shorts

- I rarely wear pants due to my body shape, it's hard for me to find a good fit

- I generally wear solid color clothing due to sensory issues. I like patterns and prints but have trouble wearing them all day long

- I wear low-heeled shoes because they are easy to walk in and comfortable. High heels hurt my feet. I do want to improve my foot fashion though and will be on the lookout for cute shoes.

- I like clothes made with soft and/or lightweight fabric

- I wear little binding on my chest unless I am exercising; then I wear a sports bra. Yes I understand that bras lift and support and improve the look of the bust line. I have sensitive skin and chest binding aggravates me.

- I like silver or faux silver jewelry and I LOVE cowrie shells. I want to add more pieces and improve my jewelry fashion.
